Drawing Course is a book that can be compared to the full "Course" of a famous drawing course in the late nineteenth century. It contains a set of nearly two hundred ornate prints of subjects to reproduce by drawing from life or nature. Hence it is a book that will interest artists, art students, art historians, and lovers and collectors of drawings.
Drawing Course consists of three parts: The first consists of panels drawn after the workpiece, usually ancient examples. The different parts of the body are studied in order of difficulty, until they are fully presented.
The second part pays homage to the Western watercolor painting school with drawings following model drawings by Renaissance and modern masters.
The third section contains nearly sixty drawing academies after nude male models, all of the original inventions by Bargue, the lithologist. With great care, students are introduced to problems with observing and recording nature. Practiced professional artists will immediately notice representation problems approached by Bargue, and they will be interested in their solutions. Painters will copy the recordings to keep the drawing tone as if there is a voice. Art students will find this book as a practical and progressive introduction to realistic drawing. Art historians can learn by studying the drawings in this book that were highly regarded in late 19th century painting. They will recognize the dependence on tradition by using sculptures. Antiquity as models in the first part: Antiquity is used, not to apply a classical style, but as an aid to seeing the structure of the human body with clarity and clever. The result is a convergence of Classicalism and Realism. There are no numeric scale charts, perspective boxes, or geometry diagrams to memorize. All techniques and diagrams are developed from either object or object. The drawings are excellent; pretty; Not merely single products, but also careful observation and a desire to copy and convey the beauty of nature and light, as well as the diverse appearance of the human body.
