Halloween is fun for children and adults. I was noted for my annual Halloween parties and creative costumes and enjoy this time of year.

Let's Decorate Our Golf Carts!
Transforming a golf cart for Halloween is fun and provides a treat for all who see it. Whether you are participating in a parade or just driving around your neighborhood, it's worth the trouble to deck your cart in a theme or go for the spooky look.
For communities that allow golf carts on the street, a parade featuring these decorated buggies is fun for everyone. If held in the evening, then you will want to add lighting effects too.
Here are some examples to give you ideas and also some tips for attaching your decorations.

What to Use to Fix Up the Cart
Check dollar stores or discount stores for inexpensive seasonal items. Take a look at thrift shows as well. If all else fails, I'll be Amazon has what you want. If not, you can construct something and use spray paint and ingenuity to get the look you want.
- You can use banners, fringe, even plastic tablecloths. Balloons are festive, tie them to the uprights.
- Costumes add to your theme. You can dress up scarecrow type figures to ride along with you in the cart. Tie them down so they don't fall out.
- Cut designs out of large cardboard boxes and paint those to transform your golf cart.
- Attach these to your cart so they won't fly off as you zip along. Take a slow ride first to see what problems there are, then reinforce the pieces more securely.

Expand Your Thinking
With the use of lightweight plywood or large pieces of cardboard, an ordinary golf cart can be turned into a mini-haunted house or a pirate ship. Let your imagination run wild.
You can extend the cart in the front or back to get away from the boxy shape of the average cart. You can also tow a lightweight trailer behind the cart and decorate that. You'll see examples of that in the videos.
Start early creating your project so you have plenty of time to run out for parts or to figure out the tricky assembly.

Useful Items for Attaching Things to Your Cart
- zip ties (the longer ones are best)
- clear package tape (use on the uprights, not on the body)
- rope or twine or bungee cords
Some Carts Won't Need Decorating, Just Add Costumes
Use Inflatables, Animatronics, or Figures Like Skeletons
- There are all sorts of inflatable characters for your yard. Find one that's not too big and attach it to the top of the cart or put it on the rear seat.
- Check on Amazon for creepy looking animatronic characters. How about a seated witch who moves her head and flashes her eyes?
- Skeletons can be positioned in lots of creative ways. Try one on the roof peering down in the front at the driver. Place a pair sitting on the back seat and add a few clothing pieces to give them personality. There are even cat and dog skeletons that you can get.
- You can get a giant spider to place on the roof of your cart. Drape the sides with ready-made spider webs or make your own web design with a clothesline.

Adding Lighting Effects
There are light sets specifically for golf carts that give an amazing look. These can be for the underbody, for the wheel wells, or canopy lights.
Another option is battery powered Christmas string lights. You may already have some of these on hand and just need to rummage them out and attach them to the cart.
If you have a small generator, you could place that on the rear footrest to power as many lights as you want. These are rather noisy though.

Hubby won't let me decorate the cart that he uses on the golf course, but we have a second one for just around the community.

Oh, I never thought the cart also need some decoration. That will be fun. Adorning it with some colored cloth and quirky items will make the day.
