First up, I downloaded the app from the Apple app store.

Here's what After School looks like on my iPhone home screen.

To use the app, I had to turn on location services.

Once I did that, I was greeted by this bikini-clad woman with the head of a tiger rocking some shutter shades. High school sure looks fun these days.

Next, I was shown a list of local high schools. I picked George Washington, which showed 750 active users on the app.

After selecting George Washington High School, this was the first post that popped up. I have no idea who Austin T is, but it looks like he has some serious fans in his class.

Cameron too.

After School uses Facebook to verify that users are actually students. Curious to see if the system worked, I tried logging in using my own Facebook.

It didn't.

Even though I was not a verified student, the app still gave me the option to post anonymously to the school's thread.

This warning notification popped up before my post went live. Everything on the app is totally anonymous, so no George Washington students will ever know the post was from me.

For safety, the app has several filter options to keep underage users from seeing explicit content.

If you're older than 17, After School let's users turn off those filters using a driver's license.

I'm 23, so I scanned my license to see if the system worked. The app promises not to store any personal information.

The scanner worked and I was able to turn off the filters, though it didn't actually do much for me, since I still couldn't see any of the posts.
